Client Feedback RECORDING by Peter

In this clip. Lyrical Healer gives us her feedback. It was a good discussion, she really liked it and said she would use it for commercial use.

Editing Process and Final product By Peter

After shooting the last piece of footage. On the following day Thursday 16th May 2013, we logged the footage onto the mac computer and began organizing the clips into good and bad. We had more than enough footage we needed which was good. Ryan was the most confident and we both allowed him to be the main editor. Myself and Zunaid were assistants helping him by making suggestions in the editing process. We were editing everyday until the half term, Ryan even edited during the half term. While in editing we used cuts and also put on colour correction to make the footage look better. As well as using the cut to the beat editing technique. When we finally screened our music video, most of the critism we got was that the video was dark and we needed to colour correct it better, aside from that everything else was really good. We are currently waiting to get the clients feedback on her product.

Filming Phase 2: Leyton Sixth Form College, Studio By Peter

On Wednesday 15th May 2013, myself, Zunaid and Ryan used the studio to shoot the final part of our music video. We booked the studio one week prior to the event to avoid clashing with another persons schedule. We got the same equipment we used from the first shoot and our client Lyrical Healer came down to the college. This time filming we decided to just film her by herself without the actors who we were previously filming.

The shots we got on the day:
  • Close-up shots
  • Extreme close-up shots
  • Medium shots
Mainly throughout the shoot she was sat on a chair as we had seen this as a generic convention, some other shoots were her standing up. The studio was an excellent location because we were able to use both the white and black backdrops which had different impacts on the footage. We also used various lighting equipment to get different effects. The entire shoot took us approximately 5 hours.

Filming Phase 1: Waterloo Zunaid

Basicly on saturday 11th May 2013, our group myself, Zunaid, Ryan and Peter went down to South Bank, the Grafitti Tunnel to film for our Music Video. Upon this we travelled down with all our equipment Camcorder, Trpod and Sterio. Our Client and Music Video Starrer Lyrical Healer came down with 5 of her freinds who would star with her in a scene on the Music Video. So we got filmed a few scenes, starting off with the beginning scene of medium shot of Lyrical Healer and the other women. This scene we filmed it quite a few times to get the hang of it and improve on it. Then we filmed the same scene again with a close-up shot on Lyrical Healer. Later we started filming scenes with Lyrical Healer herself further down a different part of the Tunnel with a few Medium shots and some side shots. Whilst filming this Lyrical Healer was next to a wall Wtih Grafitti which colour co-ordinated with her dress so the shots looked really nice. After this we had completed filimng for that day.

Codes of practice and regulations Ryan

For our final major project we are doing a music video for a live client, which has made her own song called ‘Pop Girls Rock’. We are shooting the music video in three different locations; Waterloo, Holloway and Leyton.

Copyright: Our production isn’t effected by any copyright issues because our client has produced her own original song for the music video.

Permission: The client is staring in the music video herself, so there wouldn’t be any permission issues with using the song in the music, also because the music video would be promoting the artist and the song there wouldn’t be any permission issues where the music video get shown.

Health & Safety: For the health and safety we went down to Waterloo in a tunnel, were we are going to shoot one of the scenes for our music video. While we were down there we took photos of the health and safety hazards and for the recce

Locations for Filming Zunaid

Well Myself, Ryan and Peter headed down to Waterloo last week to take pictures of one our primary location for our Music Video. We travelled to 'The Grafitti Tunnel' and took pictures.

Here is an image inside the tunnel.

We chose this location as it is a perfect location for a music video with an underground theme and Graffiti all over the walls, also it is a very attractive location that goes with the song which makes it well suited.

As shown the inner parts of the tunnel.

Leyton Sixth-Form Studio

Here is are other location where we’ll be filming The ‘Leyton Sixth-Form College Studio’ we chose this location as its well-equipped studio with lights, effects and others. Also this studio is a great advantage as it’s within the college, rather than us finding a studio outside the college. Using the resources the studio hold we will be able to do many things whilst filming with effects and just what we need.

Prezi Ryan, Zunaid, Peter

Brainstorm By Zunaid, Peter

We brainstormed ideas for Music video we will use a Sillhouette, we plan to use the college studio to create a sillhoette of the artist. To create this effect we are going to use a huge bright light behind the artist in a darkroom to create this effect. This partial technique will start at the beginning as an opener of the video.

With our ideas about our shot we particularly plan to use close-up shot of the artist in a black background but only the facial features show. For this scene we plan to use the college stdio turning off the lights in the room and only using the camera light. We can predict that we would need an expert on lightening to make this technique go smothly, so we we plan to get on of the photography teachers to help us with this. The reason why we pln to use the studion again is because the artist lives quite far away so we want to use the time we have while we have the artist in the same location.

Here is an Image of the type of Close-up shot of the artist will be in our video

Pop Girls Rock - Studio Recording

For our 'Final Major Project' we are creating a music video for our client Lyrical Healer, for her track called 'Pop Girls Rock'. For our production research we decided to film the studio recording of the final version of the song for my FMP blog, instead of doing something written.

Theme

Pink Theme

Our client wants a pink theme for the music video and also she wants to use sweets as props. So it gives the video that pinkish vibe, which you would find as the typical codes and conventions of a pink theme music videos.

Video Research by Peter

While listening to the song, I felt that it had a catchy hook and sounded something similar to a Nikki Minaj song. So I decided to research into a few of her songs.

The colours predominantly used in these videos are pink and appeal heavily to the female audience. I think this could possibly be one of the main colours in our video.

Idea

So we chose to do a Music video for our 'Final Major Project' as when are grop was formed one of the members already had a basic idea about out along with a song nd an artist so we all members agreed on this and we so forth started on Brain storming.
